 IMD alerts: Heavy rain to very heavy rain in these states

The India Meteorological Department has issued an advisory of heavy to very heavy rainfall  at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya. The weather alert has been issued for next five days till 2nd July. Heavy to very Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh and heavy rainfall at isolated places over Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat State, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, Goa and Telangana.


The weather department has also predicted rains due to moist easterly winds picking up strength in the Himalayan foothills of Bihar, north Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand from July 1 and July 2. IMD reported that the trough at mean sea level from East Uttar Pradesh to northwest Bay of Bengal now runs from north-west Uttar Pradesh to northwest Bay of Bengal across East Uttar Pradesh, south Jharkhand and north Odisha
