Illegal hacking & surveillance is not possible in India.

Pegasus, an Isreali software company, has been making its rounds in social media and has become a hot topic. Although there are rumours surrounding the software hacking into smartphones and tapping call records, phishing data and much more, the Information Technology Minitre Ashwini Vaishnaw stated in the Lok Sabha that hacking is not possible with the robust technology India has


Further, he blamed the press media for spreading the rumours. He said in a statement, “A highly sensational story was published by a web portal last night. Many over the top allegations were made around this story. The press reports appeared a day before the monsoon session of Parliament. This can’t be a coincidence."

 

He further said that there have been various claims earlier as well but even then all the ministers and party members have claimed the rumours to be fake
