Women Ministers in Cabinet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's renewed Cabinet laid emphasis on the representation of women and was evident with induction of 11 women ministers. The outgoing Cabinet and Council of Ministers had five women whereas the renewed Cabinet and Council of Ministers have a total of 11 women ministers now. Ministry of Corporate Affairs is still with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Smriti Irani continues to remain Minister of Women and Child Development (WCD 


New inductees:


Anupriya Patel: Appointed MoS in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Shobha Karandlaje: Charge of MoS in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare.

Darshana Jardosh: Appointed as MoS in the Ministry of Textiles and Ministry of Railways.

Meenakashi Lekhi: Charge of MoS in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Ministry of Culture.

Annpurna Devi: Apointed as MoS in the Ministry of Education.

Pratima Bhoumik: Charge of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment as a Minister of State (MoS).

Dr Bharati Pawar: Appointed as MoS in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
