National capital to reopen Stadiums, Sports complexe

As many states have been slowly unlocking in a phased manner, Delhi Government has announced that stadiums and sports complexes will reopen without spectators from today. Yoga studios and banquet halls reopened last week. Spas, cinemas, theatres, multiplexes, schools and swimming pools will continue to remain shut.

There have been talks about relaxations in Metro but officials said that further relaxations might lead to huge crowds of passengers inside trains and stations. The national capital was under a lockdown between April 19 and May 30. As the number of active cases started going down, Delhi Government started offering relaxations from May 31 starting with resuming functioning of factories within industrial areas and construction activities. With the reopening of many trade activities and also to keep COVID-19 situation in Delhi in check, the district authorities have deployed more enforcement teams and issued increased number of challans for violation of Covid appropriate behaviour.
