PM Modi: Varanasi visit for multi-crore projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency, to inaugurate Rudraksh Convention Centre, constructed with Japanese assistance. Multiple development projects worth over Rs 1,500 crore will also be inaugurated by him and lay the foundation stones. Prior to the PM’s visit, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday visited Varanasi and took stock of the preparations and also inspected the IIT-BHU ground where Modi is scheduled to address people.

During the visit of then Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the foundation of Rudraksh Convention Centre was laid. The centre being constructed at the cost of Rs 180 crore and has a seating capacity of 1,200 people, a gallery, and meeting rooms is termed as a symbol of “Indo-Japan” friendship. The building is

environment-friendly and convenient for differently-abled people.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) also said that Modi will inaugurate a 100-bed maternal and child health wing in BHU, three-lane flyover bridge on the Varanasi-Ghazipur Highway, multi-level parking at Godauliya, and Ro-Ro Vessels for tourism development on river Ganga apart from other projects.
